Tell us about your business:

I list and sell homes between Tawa and Pukerua Bay in the Wellington Region.

What is your WHY?

My hubby and 4 kids. I do it all for them.

What brought you to this point in your career?

I started working for a real estate agent in the area then decided I could do this, so I did, and I’ve never looked back! I have always done sales. Prior to this job I was working as a sales manager for a huge team and selling advertising for a local paper. In my youth, telesales and retail. Never done anything but sales!

What is the best thing about owning your own business?

Working my own hours and being there for my kids whenever I can.

What is the hardest part?

Working lots of hours, feeling a bit demotivated at times.

What do you do when you’re lacking motivation?

Do some training, go to a course, learn more about how I can improve. I always walk away with fire in my belly.

How do you manage the juggle?

I have a very bloody awesome husband!

How does MIB Networking impact your business?

I wanted to join a networking group since I started real estate, but the RE position had always been filled. My husband joined one when he was in business and it created so much work for him. I know the value of repeat and referrals, and that nothing is more valuable than a recommendation.

The thing I love about MIB is that each member I would trust to refer. So it feels good passing on their name knowing I am helping their business grow and it feels bloody good getting a referral back in return. In such a short time I have had 2 listings from my group!

Tell us two little known facts about you:

1. In my 7th form year I lived in LA and went to High School over there. I lived with a family that owned a movie studio! Lots of famous movies and TV series were made there. Since going on exchange, I have been back over 10 times to stay with my family. They are my second family 😊

2. I have lived in 4 countries. NZ, USA, UK & Australia.

What are you passionate about?

My job firstly! And helping people. I’m very involved in the community and have a real desire for helping out those who need it.

Will you still be doing this in 10 years?

Absolutely will. Even If I won the lotto and never had to work again, I’d still work – I love it!
